…And focus more on showing up as our very real selves, finding purpose in the people we help, and refusing to hustle ourselves to exhaustion.
…And still make plenty of sales while doing so, because being freaking genuine IS a marketing strategy – and a good one, too.
Because I spent years trying to be a writer in the way I thought I “should.” As a cub reporter for a local lifestyle magazine. A help-pages writer for Big Tech. A do-it-all words person for a startup company…
… All while restraining my free spirit, shh-ing my anxiety, stifling my humor, and generally beating the crap out of myself for not being a completely different person.
Realizing there was a perfect job for the kind of gal who asks “why” constantly, instantly picks out the theme in every story, and seems to know a little bit about everything was an “aha” moment in and of itself.
But the freedom of running an online business – organizing my days to suit me, serving and hiring people I vibe with, and bringing my whole personality to work – is what taught me to love writing again.
Along the way, everything I thought I knew about collaboration, marketing, and selling got flipped on its head.

Life freaking blossoms when you approach it with curiosity and openness – that’s adventure. Wherever gets your heart pounding – from skydiving to launching a new offer – your adventure makes you, you. It always deserves priority treatment.
For your copy to work its magic, two things need to be true: it needs to be eerily you, and you need to love it. I can’t pull that off in a vacuum… plus, your brand is a part of you. From project kickoff to final tweaks, we’re on this journey together.
This might be the yoga bish in me, but as far as I’m concerned, slow = strong. And creativity can’t breathe in tight spaces. Getting to know someone’s business and bottling up the essence into impactful copy isn’t a process I’ll ever rush.
